More Videos of the Babe

These were all taken in the last week. She's really getting expressive.

Katylynn Jumps:

Last week we put up the jumper seat. She's starting to really enjoy it!

Katylynn Talks:

She clams up when she sees the camera, thus the bad camera angle.

The Inch Worm:

Not quite sure what she's doing here, but it is funny!

Children's Resale at WMC

This morning my alarm went off at 6:30. Regardless of what you may think 6:30 is very early for me. I'm lucky that Katylynn's wake up time is 7:30-8:00.

Anyway, the alarm went off and Derry had to hit me. It's funny that a beeping alarm doesn't wake me up anymore, but a little girl laughing does. I guess its all what you train yourself to.

I was at Mindy's house by 7 and we were off to get some tea and then to Wakarusa Missionary Church to the children's resale. I heard it was pretty amazing, but WOW. .SO COOL!!

They hit it out of the park in many ways.

  1. The organization and flow of the event was very well organized. There were TONS of people there and from an outsiders view, it ran smoothly
  2. Meeting the needs of your community. They definitely met the needs of their neighbors and what was cool they did it with so much grace and love. The church was being the church. Serving, loving and meeting needs
  3. Serving & Loving People. This is coupled with the previous one, but every staff person was calm, helpful and just serving away. I never saw anyone stressed out or frustrated among their staff.
  4. They graciously gave information about their church in a non-threatening way. They attached a sheet to the receipt that gave info for the next sale as well as the programs that would be applicable for parents.
From one who has organized and help run large events, I understand how difficult it can be.

THEY HIT IT OUT OF THE PARK!

Great Job Waky!

I got a new phone!

So yesterday Derry and I decided to upgrade our phones. And this time...different phones. I got the Juke. Which is awesome because I can put music on it! So now, when I bike, all I have to do is grab my phone. YAY!

Derry is happy too because now I don't need an Ipod! I've been asking for one for a couple of months and reminding him that my 30th birthday is coming in June and that would make a great gift.

But alas, I don't need one.

So the real question is...
What am I getting for my birthday?

Katylynn on the Move

She doesn't cease to amaze me. How does one turn sideways in her bed?

This morning I woke up to Katylynn talking to Pooh in her bed laying sideways. She's been doing this lately and it really cracks me up. It's hard to see, but check it out below!

2 Funny Katylynn Moments

I've often shared how Katylynn cracks me up. Yesterday was no exception. She had two great moments.

I brought Katylynn into the bathroom with me while I got ready. I searched the bathroom to give her something to play with. I finally found my headband. I figured it couldn't hurt her and she might find it interesting.

I left her for a couple of minutes and when I saw her again, she looked like this:

Needless to say I hysterically laughed. At first Katylynn smiled, then she realized I was laughing at her and she began crying. Oh, but it was too funny. How in the world did she manage to wrap it around her head? Too great!!

The second one happened last night. I poured a bowl of cereal and placed it near her. Next thing I know she had my spoon in her hand and cereal on the floor. It was remarkable. I didn't know she could reach it. It happened so quickly. All I could do was laugh!

Ok one more...here is a funny picture from her last photo shoot.

My Favorite Little Girl in the WHOLE World

Katylynn is truly the best thing that has ever happened to me (behind meeting Christ & almost as equal to meeting & marrying Derry).

She makes me smile all day. She makes me laugh a lot. She makes me happy. When she goes to sleep, I miss her. I miss her when she is in the nursery or if Daddy & Daughter are having some time together.

I never thought I would love someone so special so much. As I write this, my eyes are full of tears. I cannot believe that God has given me this precious little girl to raise, to love, and to teach her all about him.

Tonight when Derry was praying for the students, I prayed in Katylynn's ear for her. It was at that moment when I realized the importance of praying for your children and they hear it. I pray for Katylynn often, but does she hear it? How will she know she is prayed for unless she hears it. I love hearing people pray for me. I'm often brought to tears knowing someone cares enough for me to pray for me. So tonight, I decided not only to pray for Katylynn on my own, but in her presence out loud.

Take a look at my little miracle!

Thanks God. I promise I will never take her for granted!
