I Sure Missed Her

Katylynn has changed so much in the past 2 weeks. As my previous post mentioned, she is crawling. She is crawling EVERYWHERE! She also has a tooth coming in, but I'm pretty sure I already said that. She is more squirmy than ever! But I love every minute of her.

Back Home

For the past 12 days Derry and I went to Mexico with students on a missions trip. Baby girl spent 6 days with my parents and 6 days with Derry's. She had tons of fun.

Upon our return, Katylynn was crawling and had a tooth breaking through. She is definitely mobile. I have to try to operate in this new adventure. It is pretty fun to watch her though!

I dont have a clue

A couple of weeks ago I went garage sale shopping. I found these really cute shoes for $1. So, I bought them. I looked in the bottom of the shoe and it said "Steve Madden". I thought, never heard of it must be an off brand. After talking with my friend Mindy, she informed me that they are in fact a really pricey brand. I went to stevemadden.com and found out very quickly I got a great deal. The price ranges from $29 to $369. Not sure why anyone would pay that much for shoes, but I got mine for $1. I'll pay $1 for "name brand".

Is anyone surprised that I don't have a clue when it comes to name brand shoes...NOT I!

This was the scene from lunch today. The messiest she has been yet. It made me laugh pretty hard. I guess she doesn't mind getting a "little" dirty.

Yesterday was a fun day!

Went and hung out with a former Mentee and her fiance. She lives in Georgia now so I hardly see her. It was cool to hear what God is doing in her life right now

The Evening
My super cool surprise party! I've never had one, it was awesome. Derry invited all of my favorite people (my parents even made the journey from Fort Wayne) .

He had all of my favorite food. Subway sandwiches, Olive Garden Salad & Breadsticks, Ice cream cake from DQ (the Disney princesses were supposed to be on it, but they screwed up and put Barbie. I really don't like Barbie, but I found it hilarious! Derry, not so much.) And not to mention all of my favorite candy. Hot Tamales, Sour Patch Kids and my new favorite Milk Duds.

I had 30 candles on my cake, I almost blew them all out in one breath...I missed two. In my defense one went out and came back on. It was weird. And it wasn't a trick candle!

We hung out and talked for a bit. I got some really cool cards and presents. Some crazy silly, some not. I loved them all!

Afterwards the Weiss & Graverson & Prenkert families all hung out. We threw rocks into the lake with our left hand. To much surprise, Marty is horrible at left handed throwing. Katie not so much better, her's went about 1 foot. The other one went sideways. How do you do that?

Finally we made it home and I had one more surprise. All of my special people wrote me a note and stuck it in a balloon. I popped the balloon and wala, a note. Some of my favorites were from the kids. Ty & David wrote in their own fun fashion. Emma & Hanah wrote it themselves. It was so cool. But by far my favorite was my Dad's. It said, "Do you remember what you were doing 30 years ago today?" That made me laugh for a bit.

It was a super fun night! Something I really needed. Thank you to all of my friends and family who came and showed your love to me. I love you back!

30 is Good!


I think this is my longest post ever!

Not a Spring Chick

A couple of days ago I was talking with one of my friends and she had mentioned how we were getting older. Be both celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary and are both turning 30 this year.

We are no longer newly married, we are no longer young adults. We are just ADULTS. We are old. Wow, hard to wrap your head around that.

Well, today is filled with mixed emotions. I turned 30 this am and love birthdays. Why? Presents of course! Well I think I love today, not sure yet, ask me tomorrow.

What a Trooper

Katylynn is such a good girl. We went to 19 open houses this weekend and she didn't really fuss at all. Derry dropped us off early yesterday because she was spent. 19 is a lot for a 7 month old. Lets face it 19 is a lot for anyone.

She is definitely a little trooper.
